Neck Procedures
The cervical spine enables head movement and carries nerves that control arm and leg function. Common issues include herniated discs, degeneration, and stenosis, causing pain, stiffness, numbness, or weakness. Most cases are treated without surgery, but when needed, advanced methods like artificial disc replacement and microsurgery are used.
Middle Back Procedures
This part of the spine supports torso movement and contains nerves affecting balance and leg function. Common problems include degeneration, stenosis, and tumors, leading to back pain, balance issues, or bladder/bowel problems. Minimally invasive techniques can often resolve these conditions.
Lower Back Procedures
The lumbar spine carries body weight, enables movement, and houses nerves for leg and bladder function. Conditions like herniation, degeneration, stenosis, tumors, or fractures may cause pain, stiffness, or mobility issues. Today, most are treated successfully—often without hospitalization—using advanced techniques like artificial disc replacement and microdecompression.

  • Iron deficiency anaemia: the common illness that comes across the field of gastroenterology, where endoscopic assessment of the stomach, small bowel and colon in most of the cases is necessary before starting treatment.
  • Abdominal pain and bloating: Management and treatment
  • Acid reflux: offering endoscopic assessment, Oesophageal Ph and manometry study before commencing treatment.
  • Celiac disease: Celiac disease diagnosis and confirmation, dietary advise, screening and long term monitoring and management
  • Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis: disease diagnoses, treatment and colonoscopy screening and follow up
  • Acute and Chronic diarrhoea: diagnosis and treatment
  • Pancreatic and biliary disease: medical management and endoscopic assessment and treatment. Brief Profile

Dr. Sinan Al-Rubaye is a consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist, and Advanced Endoscopist. He graduated from Baghdad University and completed his Gastroenterology training at renowned hospitals in England, including the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Dr. Sinan obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training (UK Board) in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Royal College of Physicians (London) and the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom. During his board training, he successfully completed two fellowships in advanced endoscopy and the management of complex liver disease, including pre and post liver transplantation. Additionally, he served as a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology Trainees Section Committee.  

Dr. Sinan’s career has primarily been based at East Lancashire NHS Trust, a University Hospital and Tertiary Organization. He also had the privilege of working in other English hospitals, including North Middlesex University Hospital-London, North Bristol Hospital Trust, and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital-Birmingham. Alongside his clinical work, he served as the Head of the endoscopy department of the Digestive Disease Unit at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and chaired the Endoscopy User’s group.

Specializing in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy procedures such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy, Endoscopic ultrasound, and ERCP, Dr. Sinan is a former trainer of advanced endoscopy to senior gastroenterology trainees and advanced clinical fellows. He brings extensive experience in managing complex gastrointestinal tract diseases, with a particular focus on complex liver and pancreatic pathology. Moreover, he is dedicated to addressing common gastroenterology pathologies and symptoms, including acid reflux, abdominal pain and bloating, diarrhea, change in bowel habits, celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease).
