Dr. Wright is a Harvard AAGL-fellowship trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon promoting innovative, safe, cost-effective, and sustainable treatment options for women. She has worked as a physician champion for enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), patient safety, cost-optimization, and sustainability in healthcare through reducing waste and reliance on the supply chain. She currently serves as the Director of the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, leading a busy and productive team of world-renowned surgeons. She was appointed to Vice Chair of Gynecology in 2025, leading initiatives for credentialing, peer review, and emergency and OR operations management.
In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Wright enjoys using her background in biomedical engineering as an industry-leading consultant for medical device companies. Specifically, she has served in product development, pre-market testing, regulatory review, market guidance, education, and sustainability consulting. She aims to promote gender equity for women surgeons and further women's involvement in the male-dominated medical device industry.
Further, Dr. Wright has an interest in quality improvement and patient experience in the field of gynecologic surgery. She performs subspecialty peer review for hospitals and payors across the nation and serves as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases. She advocates for safe surgical practices for all women.
Her research includes OR cost-effectiveness and resource minimization, enhanced recovery after surgery, and disparities in access to minimally invasive surgery. She has a passion for sustainability in healthcare, as the US healthcare industry accounts for a large amount of carbon emissions and waste that negatively affect human health. She has given multiple keynote lectures and grand rounds on mitigating the US healthcare industry's immense carbon emissions.
Finally, she is the creator and founder of Points and Miles Doc, a platform for teaching physicians and other high-income professionals how to leverage points and miles to prevent burnout through creating meaningful travel experiences. Sustainability in the environment, surgery, and career are core principles to her message.
