Neck Procedures
The cervical spine enables head movement and carries nerves that control arm and leg function. Common issues include herniated discs, degeneration, and stenosis, causing pain, stiffness, numbness, or weakness. Most cases are treated without surgery, but when needed, advanced methods like artificial disc replacement and microsurgery are used.
Middle Back Procedures
This part of the spine supports torso movement and contains nerves affecting balance and leg function. Common problems include degeneration, stenosis, and tumors, leading to back pain, balance issues, or bladder/bowel problems. Minimally invasive techniques can often resolve these conditions.
Lower Back Procedures
The lumbar spine carries body weight, enables movement, and houses nerves for leg and bladder function. Conditions like herniation, degeneration, stenosis, tumors, or fractures may cause pain, stiffness, or mobility issues. Today, most are treated successfully—often without hospitalization—using advanced techniques like artificial disc replacement and microdecompression.

The spine functions best when its regions—cervical, thoracic, and lumbar—are in proper alignment. Structural issues in the bones or discs can lead to deformities like scoliosis (curved spine) or kyphosis (hunchback). Brief Profile

Dr. Hawraman Ramadan was among the top 10 graduates from the College of Medicine of Salahaddin University in Iraq, obtaining his MB ChB (Hons) in 1999. He then moved to the UK for postgraduate training in 2001. He completed his house officer and senior house officer rotations in Leeds and Wakefield in the UK before pursuing formal specialist training in Neurology (Leeds and Bradford, UK). He underwent specialist stroke medicine training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square, London and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (London, UK).

In 2012, he was appointed as consultant Neurologist and Stroke Physician at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  He continued to serve as Consultant Neurologist and Stroke Physician at Bradford and led the stroke service at BTHFT until he joined The View Hospital in July 2023.  

In 2013, he established a chronic headache clinic and a Botox service for chronic migraine. With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Hawraman has treated patients, aged above 16, with a wide variety of neurological disorders, working in a safe and effective multidisciplinary environment to address common and complex cases. He was awarded University College London’s medical school students’ “TOP TEACHERS AWARD” after being nominated by medical students via annual o line evaluation questionnaires as the teacher who is individually helpful and inspiring during their studies in 2010/2011.

Dr. Hawraman has made significant contributions to the field of neurology and stroke medicine by publishing numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, he has played a vital role as the Principal Investigator for various national (UK) clinical trials, including ENRICH-AF, DPMS, SIGNUM, SOSTART, RESTART, ECST-2, TICH-3, DexEncephalitis, and UK Meningitis Study Trials at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
